Between Dec. 1-3, 2017, two people were killed and at least 14 were wounded in Chicago shootings, according to police.

On Friday, at 8:34 p.m. shots were fired in the 400 block of West 38th Place in the South Side Bridgeport neighborhood. Police officers found a male who had been shot in the neck. He was transported to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead.

Saturday afternoon, a male was riding a bicycle on the Northwest Side, in the 2600 block of North Long, in the Cragin neighborhood at 1:17 p.m. A person riding in a minivan drove by and shot him in the chest.
The unidentified male was taken to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 2:02 p.m. His identity has not yet been released by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Saturday evening, three teenage boys were on the sidewalk in the 5900 block of West Madison, in the Austin neighborhood. A vehicle pulled up and the passenger opened fire on the three teenagers. One was shot in the stomach. Another was shot in the arm. The 16 and 14-year-old males were transported to Stroger Hospital. They are both in stable condition.

The third male was shot in the buttocks. The 14-year-old male was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. He is also in stable condition.

At 7:17 p.m., on the Far South Side, in the Rosemoor neighborhood. A 24-year-old man was walking in the 10500 block of South Edbrooke when he was approached and shot in the knee, according to police officers. He was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He is in stable condition.

Around 8 p.m. in the South Side Marquette Park neighborhood, a 20-year-old man was walking in the 7100 block of South Troy. He said he heard gun shots before feeling pain. The man went to Holy Cross Hospital for a gunshot wound to the foot. He is in good condition.

At 10:30 p.m., on the West Side, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, a 25-year-old man was shot in the ankle while he was in the 3800 block of West Huron. According to police, he was in fair condition when he was taken to the Norwegian American Hospital. Police have not released any more details concerning this shooting.

On Sunday, at 2 a.m., a woman was grazed in a drive-by shooting in the Gage Park neighborhood. She was in a vehicle, riding in the 5200 block of South Whipple when people on the street opened fire, according to police. A round entered the vehicle and grazed the 21-year-old woman’s back. She refused medical condition.

Almost three hours later, on the Far South Side, a man was critically wounded in the Roseland neighborhood. According to police officers, the 21-year-old male was found in his vehicle around 3:50 p.m. He was in the first block of West 111th Place. The man was in the driver’s seat and the vehicle was still running. He had multiple gun shot wounds. An ambulance transported him to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He is in critical condition.

Thanksgiving weekend, shootings killed seven people and wounded 26 others.
