Supplements: Health Hoax or Investment in the Future?

Supplements: Health Hoax or Investment in the Future?

Health is not just a state of being, but a process and most of us take it for granted. We think we are immortal. The process of health has to be maintained every single day via personal choices, healthy choices, such as exercising, stress management, avoiding sun radiation and pollution, no smoking, and limiting alcohol consumption. Most importantly, we must consider the food we ingest into our bodies. Nowadays, most foods are heavily processed and the result is many people are lacking essential antioxidants and micro-nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals. A healthy lifestyle should include at least five various portions of fruits and vegetables every day and those should be as organic as possible.

Let’s be honest, we rarely find the time, knowledge, or the willpower to maintain those healthy choices on a daily basis. That is why the supplement industry was born. Suddenly, people who knew they did not eat as well as they should could supplement their daily needs, in order to supply their bodies with the micro-nutrients they needed to stay healthy. Nowadays, more and more manufacturers say that their product is the best with more than 5,000 companies that produce supplements. Who should you trust?

There have been people who ingested more supplements than doctors would approve and they have experienced some dramatic results. These supplements boosted their health and energy in a matter of weeks, resulted in better sleep, improved vision, as well as relieved aches and pains. Moreover, many claim it produced a feeling of lightness, sense of ease, and an overall wellness. All these claims are to be expected. However, there are a lot of people out there with far more amazing results.

Supplements

A few companies stand out from the crowd. What is so different about these companies? Well, first of all, they are the only ones that use natural, organic products via measuring their antioxidant levels and constantly improving their supplements. Secondly, they invested billion of dollars in research and some of them even acquired genetic labs to take their products to the next level, based on genetic nutrition. Most importantly, they brought in some of the world’s leaders in research, who specialize in the field of supplementation, such as pharmacists, chemists, and biologists.

If you have a sedentary lifestyle, which is characterized by little or no exercise, irregular and fast eating, little or no consumption of fruits and vegetables, high-stress levels, and restless sleep, you could benefit greatly from the use of some supplementation. Wondering about the price involved? The real cost to consider is your present and future health. People who neglect their own well-being for extended periods are likely to incur much higher health costs later in life. Spending money on supplements now to improve your health is actually an investment in yourself and the future. The more investment you put in, the more you are likely to get out. It is always a better health practice to prevent than to treat, as some people are faced with severe debt or even bankruptcy to pay for their hospital and medication bills. In many cases, this situation could be avoided if more people would invest in their health, early on.

It is always best to do your own research to avoid finding yourself confused by ambiguous and/or misleading labels and not knowing who to trust. The best supplements often come with a price, but also an investment in the future.
