Devious Maids is unraveling more dangerous secrets as it moves towards the season finale. With so many side plots, viewers all have something to relate to when it comes to this comedic drama.
One of the exciting things that occurred during last nights episode was with Adrian and Evelyn Powell, played by Tom Irwin and Rebecca Wiscocky. Since the show started, this couple has been definitely the one to watch. Bound by some kind of strange, unseen force, this couple seems to have managed to stay together through all of Adrian’s womanizing. Evelyn deals with the situation by being a cold and sharp-tongued woman scorned and the rapport between the two, always provokes laughs. However, the couple’s relationship goes deeper than ever before seen when on last night’s episode, Adrian realizes just how much he loves his wife and how much he cannot stand having her sleep with the new bodyguard. Unlike the past, Adrian goes full speed ahead to win back his wife which is rather touching and fresh for this unconventional couple. Adrian manages to pay the bodyguard off and send him on his way but not without making sure that he lets Evelyn down gently as not to crush her spirit. It was so romantic and to see these viper tongued characters connect on a loving and respectful level, so much so that viewers had to have gotten butterflies in their stomachs.
The character Rosie Falta, played by Dania Ramirez, is heading for trouble when she tries, as usual, to help those she cares about. But Reggie Miller, her new lawyer boyfriend and nephew of the man she has been hired to take care of (Kenneth Miller) , has more up his sleeve than just wanting Rosie. The plot thickens as he manages to get rid of the daughter Lucinda and the young, gold digging wife only to devise a scheme to send his Uncle into a home and taking control over Kenneth’s entire estate. Rosie revealed to Reggie that she knew what he was up to and that means Rosie has gotten in over her head. The unraveling of secrets in Devious Maids is looking to be a dangerous thing indeed, putting main characters in sure danger, leaving fans to wonder who will make it out alive this season?
Marisol Duarte, played by Ana Ortiz, also seems to be getting in over her head when she confronts Opal about the sinister truth of her past, as well as the past of her new husband, Opal’s old boss. When confronting Opal with the truth, Opal pulls a gun on her, only to be saved by Opal’s son, Ethan.
Ethan, who was stabbed in the last episode during the home invasion of where Carmen Luna works (played by Roselyn Sanchez), decides things are getting too hot and he decides to leave down. This move leaves his girlfriend, Valentina, who is the daughter of Zoila Diaz (played by Judy Reyes) to rush back into the arms of her former boyfriend, the son of Genevieve Delatour, Zoila’s employer.
Devious Maids continues to entice and churn out seat grabbing episodes, but with the characters revealing the secrets they know, is surely to put them in danger. This show is so much fun and entertaining that fans cannot wait a week to find out what is going to happen next. Devious Maids airs Sunday on Lifetime at 10/9c.
