Robert Mueller’s Investigation Continues Without Presidential Interview

President Donald Trump and his lawyers stopped negotiations for an interview with Robert Meuller. On April 12, 2018, reports indicate the Trump team, upset over the FBI raid of the president’s former lawyer, decided they would not cooperate with the Mueller’s investigation.

Since the official query into anyone associated with Trump and their dealings with Russia began, the president has cried foul. Specifically, “there is no collusion,” and Fake News.

During the last several months, Trump stated he had nothing to hide and he would be happy to be interviewed by Meuller’s team. In the beginning, his lawyers highly recommended he not.

However, his persistent insistence to answer questions caused one of his lawyers to resign. His rest of his team acquiesced and began negotiating Trump’s appearance before the investigation committee. NBC reports they were in meetings on but these have stopped.

Apparently, the FBI raid of Michael Cohen’s office and hotel room on Monday, April 9, outraged the president and his lawyers so much they have closed the door on any voluntary interview between Meuller and Trump.

The FBI sought to seize records about the transaction of $130,000 to Stormy Daniels. Trump denied having any knowledge of the transaction and then pointed toward Cohen if anyone wanted to know.

Cohen is also a person of interest in the collusion hearings. It is likely Mueller will want to question the lawyer in the near future.
